Job Description

ITMAGINATION, now part of the Virtusa Group helps its Clients by becoming a true extension of their software and data development capabilities. Through the readily set up, comprehensive, and self-governing teams, we let our Clients focus on their business while we make sure that their software products and data tools scale up accordingly and with outstanding quality.

We are looking for experienced team players to fill the position of Architect & Lead Software Engineer with C++ and .Net and participate in our up-and-coming project for our client from the Automotive industry.

Project goals: stabilize and evolve core DMS components, enabling secure integrations and long-term maintainability.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead design and architecture of C++/COM components within a large Automotive DMS program.
  • Modernize legacy COM/Win32 modules; drive refactoring, performance improvements, and reliability.
  • Ensure robust .NET interop and service integrations (REST); guide migration roadmaps.
  • Conduct code/design reviews, enforce standards, and mentor senior/regular C++ engineers.
  • Collaborate closely with .NET, Java, Support (L2/L3), QA, and Infra/Security teams.
  • Contribute hands-on to critical spikes/PoCs, complex debugging, and production hardening.




Requirements

  • Min. 8 years professional C++ (C++03–C++11) on MSVC 2010 and Linux; strong OOP.
  • Proven experience with COM/ATL, Win32, multi-threading, memory/perf profiling, and large codebases.
  • REST API consumption/exposure; CI/CD familiarity for native code.
  • Excellent debugging (Windows + Linux) and hardening practices for production systems.
  • Communication skills: German B2+, English B2+
Preferred Requirements:
 
  • .NET interop (P/Invoke/COM), secure coding, observability (logs/metrics/crash dumps).
  • Automotive/DMS environment experience; exposure to containerized build agents; scripting (PowerShell/Python).
